DESCRIPTION:OCO Concert Will Feature 2 Premieres and Local History.\n\n\n\nAn Evening of Classic & Sacred Music' will include 2 Premieres   'The Healing Power of Jesus Christ' and 'Benediction'. Crawford Gates\, who wrote the 'Fanfare for Lake Country'\, the piece for our area\, was a prolific American composer with nearly 900 works. Among them is 'Healing Power'\, which has never been heard. Jacob Beranek\, an Oconomowoc native now studying at Juilliard School in New York City\, wrote 'Benediction' for a capella (unaccompanied) voices. It was recorded previously\, but this is the first public performance.\n\n\n\nFrank S Chatfield\, the namesake for the OCO's Chatfield Award\, and maker of the beautiful matched set of stringed instruments made from wood of the Lac LaBelle region\, wrote a poem about Violin Making\, that was recently discovered. It will be 'read' by 5 area students who have rehearsed and performed on the Chatfield Instruments: Amber Eggleston\, Tyler Wacker\, Logan Van Schyndle\, Vera Novobielski and Emma-Jean Swanson. The video will be played for the first time at the Nov 11th concert\, and later posted to YouTube.
