The event is a celebration of creating more access for all to our Wisconsin waterways.\n\nThe connection continues a long relationship with the City of Oconomowoc and the Bryon Riesch Paralysis Foundation as the annual Kayak 4 a Cure has been held from the launch area on Fowler Lake for a decade.\n\nEvent founder Jason Hall said Kayak 4 a Cure has generated more than $100\,000 to support for work to find a cure to the paralysis of those who suffer from neurological disorders.\n\nThe dock will have a hoyer lift system to help people with mobility issues get in and out of the watercraft.\n\nKayak for a Cure launches from Fowler Lake each June. This year's event will hit the water after the ribbon cutting. In years past\, a temporary dock/lift system was installed over the weekend. However\, after this year's event the accessible launch will become a permanent fixture.
