As we planned our recent “Oconomowoc Women Who Made a Difference” series, Florence “Floss” Whalen was one of the first people to make the shortlist of historical figures. While the women featured so far in this series are no longer with us, Floss is still here to tell her own story. Join us for a special interview-style program featuring longtime community leader Florence “Floss” Whalen. Best known for her service as Mayor of Oconomowoc, Floss helped guide the city through years of growth and change while breaking barriers as an influential civic leader. In conversation with historical society volunteers and frequent presenters Barb Elwood-Goetsch and Jolayne Lindberg, Floss will reflect on her years in public service and the lessons she learned while helping shape Oconomowoc. Don’t miss this unique chance to hear local history directly from someone who helped make it.
