Building Our Future: Exploring the Benefits of School-Business Collaborations
The relationships among schools and the communities in which they operate are essential to student learning. School–business partnerships have been shown to enhance educational experiences for students, preparing them on their journey in becoming our future employees, leaders, and community members. These partnerships benefit businesses in various ways, including access to a talented workforce, increased brand recognition, and enhanced community engagement.
No partnership is too small! There are many ways a business can support a school’s educational goals through school-business service-learning collaborations, internships, job shadows, guest speaking, and mentorships.
Our Program
Our May Business Over Breakfast will focus on school-to-career partnerships, a program that extends education beyond the classroom whether in the trades or in a professional role. This event will bring teachers, local businesses, and students together to share their experiences and showcase how these partnerships can benefit everyone involved.
Digital Education Instructors Michael Krill and Danielle Bukal will give insight into how they have successfully integrated real-world business scenarios into their curriculum to provide students with hands-on experience and invaluable skills for their future careers.
Sarah Williams-Berg, Director of Community Relations for Shorehaven, and Dan Neumann, Sales Director for Ewald Automotive Group, will share how these collaborations have helped their businesses identify and attract talented students who are interested in their industry and develop a pipeline of talented, job-ready graduates.
We will also hear from four students, Brayden, Lauren, Paige, and Charles, who will talk about their experiences and how it has helped them prepare for their post-high school goals.
