Description
Building Our Future: Exploring the Benefits of School-Business Collaborations
The relationships among schools and the communities in which they operate are essential to student learning. School–business partnerships have been shown to enhance educational experiences for students, preparing them on their journey in becoming our future employees, leaders, and community members. These partnerships benefit businesses in various ways, including access to a talented workforce, increased brand recognition, and enhanced community engagement.
OUR PROGRAM
Life Ready and Leadership Development at Oconomowoc High School
Our May Business Over Breakfast will focus on life ready and leadership development within school and community partnerships, a leadership course that extends education beyond the classroom. This event will bring educators, students and business partners together to share their experiences and showcase how these partnerships can benefit everyone involved.
Leadership Instructor Kim Mueske will give insight into how they have successfully integrated the 7 habits of highly effective people into their curriculum to provide students with life ready habits and invaluable skills and strategies for their future life and careers.
Sarah Williams-Berg, Director of Community Relations for Shorehaven, will share how these collaborations have helped their businesses identify and attract talented students who are interested in their industry and develop life ready citizens who demonstrate leadership skills in the areas of communication, decision making and collaboration.
We will also hear from three students, Birch, Chloe and Dylan, who will talk about their leadership experiences and how it has helped them prepare in life and post high school goals.
