Position Overview:
The Executive Director of the Oconomowoc Chamber of Commerce is the key leadership position responsible for overseeing all operational aspects of the Chamber, including strategic planning, member relations, community engagement, financial management, and staff supervision. This role demands a dynamic, visionary leader with a passion for fostering economic growth, supporting local businesses, and enhancing the community’s quality of life.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership:
- Develop and implement the Chamber’s strategic plan in collaboration with the Board of Directors.
- Identify and act on opportunities to advance the Chamber’s mission and goals.
- Serve as a primary spokesperson and advocate for the Chamber.
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with current and potential members.
- Develop and oversee programs and services that provide value to Chamber members.
- Ensure high levels of member satisfaction and engagement.
- Foster strong partnerships with local businesses, government agencies, and community organizations.
- Represent the Chamber at community events and in public forums.
- Promote the Chamber’s role in economic development and community improvement initiatives.
- Develop and manage the Chamber’s annual budget.
- Oversee fundraising efforts, including sponsorships, grants, and membership dues.
- Ensure financial sustainability and accountability.
- Manage the daily operations of the Chamber office.
- Supervise, mentor, and evaluate staff performance.
- Ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements.
- Develop and implement marketing strategies to promote Chamber events and initiatives.
- Oversee the creation and distribution of the Chamber’s communications, including newsletters, social media, and press releases.
- Enhance the Chamber’s brand and public image.
- Bachelor’s degree but equivalent business experience considered.
- Minimum of 5 years of leadership experience, preferably in a non-profit, association, or business.
- Proven track record of successful strategic planning and implementation.
- Strong financial acumen and experience with budget management.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and public speaking skills.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders.
- Knowledge of economic development and community engagement practices.
- Passion for supporting and advocating for local businesses and the Oconomowoc community.
