POSITION SUMMARY:
This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility.  Implement programming that encourages physical, emotional, and intellectual growth in a safe and nurturing environment.
 
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Experience in children’s programming/education, preferred.
  • Knowledge of state licensing and Young Star accreditation requirements, preferred.
  • Attend staff meetings, training, and obtain additional certification as requested.
 
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Ability to perform all physical aspects of the position; including leading classes, walking, standing, bending, reaching, and lifting.  Individuals in this position may be subject to all elements of weather and loud facilities.

ADDITIONAL ESSENTIAL INFORMATION:

- Schedule impacts include but are not limited to the following: attend all pre-camp trainings, be present and attend all Monday night meetings, complete all necessary trainings and qualifications as required.

- The camp season ranges from early May through late August, it is in the best interest of the candidate to commit to as much of this season as possible. 

- There are multiple types of camp and camp locations, including two Day Camp locations (~150 campers and 25 staff) and two Summer School locations (varying in smaller camp sizes).
