About Us
Since 2001, Lake Area Free Clinic has been providing high-quality health care to low-income residents of Waukesha County. With less than 4 full-time staff members, LAFC Medical Clinic provides care with the help of 260 volunteers. LAFC provides chronic and acute care, labs, imaging, specialty services and medication free of charge. Insurance enrollment assistance and transportation are also available to patients.
One critical Health care need remained unmet. In 2017 LAFC opened a 6-chair Dental Clinic. In 2019, with a 3-month, 300 person wait list, LAFC hired a full-time dentist and added a 7th chair. LAFC offers reduced fee dental services to low-income adults. Services include exams, cleanings, fillings, extractions, non-surgical periodontal therapy, oral hygiene, partial dentures, crowns and some root canals. LAFC has a paid staff and is supplemented with volunteers.
