Airborne Units of World War II
Description
Join guest presenter Brad Anderson for a program providing an overview of United States airborne (paratrooper) operations in WWII. Topics include: - The beginnings of US airborne training - Airborne operations worldwide prior to 1944 - An overview of the various airborne units within the US military in WWII - An overview of Operations Husky, Overlord (Normandy), and Varsity (Crossing of the Rhine River) - Hollywood vs. reality This session will feature a PowerPoint presentation and a display of various historical artifacts, including uniforms belonging to historical US military icons. This interactive event will also include snacks and refreshments provided by Silver Eagles Normandy, LLC, a disabled veteran-owned military tour company.
