Civil War Hijinks
Description
The Oconomowoc Area Historical Society & Museum is happy to host the program “Civil War Hijinks” at our quarterly Membership Meeting. Plan to be there on the last Saturday of April, the 27th. As very special guests to the museum, we are bringing you Judy and Dennis Cook. Judy is the great-great-granddaughter of Gilbert & Esther Claflin who were the Oconomowoc pioneers that farmed 40 acres which is now known as the Wren Crest Subdivision. The Claflin's former home still stands at 850 Summit Avenue. Besides bringing Claflin's Civil War time correspondence to life, Judy Cook will be singing songs of those times. Her book 'A Quiet Corner of the War', shows a sweet tenderness between husband and wife and the historical lives of well known Oconomowoc residents in the early 1860s, will also be for sale.
