The Nutcracker Ballet
MainStage Academy of Dance with the BrayBallet Company will celebrate the 10th anniversary of “The Nutcracker Ballet” leaping onto the OAC’s Main Stage at 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Dec. 6 and 7, and 2 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 7 and 8.
Going to see Tchaikovsky’s beloved ballet at the OAC has become a holiday tradition in the Lake Country area. With Artistic Director Eddy Bray’s choreography, amazing set design and the magical musical score of Peter Tchaikovsky, the 10th annual production promises to delight audiences of all ages.
More than 30 dancers were selected from MainStage Academy’s Ballet Program to perform in this year’s “Nutcracker.” There are over 100 costumes featured in the performance, including handmade costumes made in Moldova and intricate masks from Amsterdam.
“We’ve reached a historic milestone - MainStage Academy of Dance has been performing the Nutcracker for 10 years at the OAC! Over 17,000 people have enjoyed more than 50 performances of our holiday classic,” said Bray. “With the beautiful sets, handmade costumes, hidden surprises, guest dancers from BrayBallet Company, as well as MainStage alumni, the production is sure to be memorable.”
